The House approved the Garissa County Restoration and livelihood Improvement Bill, 2023 (Assembly Bill No.3 of 2023)
The Bill is to provide the Restoration of the Environment and Improvement of the Livelihoods of the Residents of the County through the institutionalisation of the Environment Restoration and the Improvement of the Livelihoods programp
Hon Mohamed Sheikh, Member for Labasigale and The Chair of the Committee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources marshalled the members to approve the Bill as provides for the establishment, Management and administration of a Livelihood Program that will also enhance Restoration of the Environment.
Hon Mohamed Abdi Farah, the Majority Leader and the Member for Dadaab while contributing to the Bill asked the Member to approve the Bill since the ultimate goal of the Bill is to improve Livelihoods through Engagement and gainful Employment to the residents of the County while providing formal structure for enhanced tree planting and Environment Restoration.
