The County Assembly of Garissa Service Board (CASB) held a high-level consultative meeting with the Senator Hon. Abdul Haji in Nairobi to deliberate on critical institutional and governance matters affecting the Assembly and residents of Garissa County.
The engagement explored avenues for strengthening legislative operations, enhancing accountability mechanisms, and seeking the Senatorβs support in linking the Assembly with external partners and development institutions to improve service delivery and representation.
Discussions underscored a shared commitment to legislative modernization and institutional resilience. Among the priority areas considered was Digital Legislative Transformation aimed at streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency, as well as the establishment of a fully-fledged Assembly Budget Office to reinforce financial oversight and support evidence-based decision-making.
The meeting also emphasized strengthening the Women Caucus to advance inclusive leadership, enhancing structured public engagement frameworks to institutionalize citizen participation, and building the capacity of Sectoral Committees through specialized training and technical support for Committee Clerks to improve scrutiny and oversight.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to building strong, transparent, and effective institutions that advance the interests of Garissa residents, concluding with a unified resolve to foster coordinated service delivery and uphold integrity, accountability, and excellence in public service.
